Taking a cue from Scott, here's a 'do no harm' replacement that solves the problems with the 3 point.

  What a great solution! Long before Hipshot came up with a three point replacement I did drawings for my own version. After HS came out with theirs I pretty much dropped the idea. I just don't have the resources to compete.
