Here (http://www.modernguitars.com/archives/004149.html).
No article, just pics. Mostly guitars but I do spy two Birds in the Gibson booth and one seems to have a mirrored pickguard and a toggle switch. These probably aren't Epis, there's a separate Epi booth shot where you can see the Woody and EB-0.
The one T-bird is like the one Nikki Sixx has in a recent BP mag. Looks like it has his name on the pickguard as well. My wife won't be happy if that is a production model!
I sure like that red Nikki Sixx 'Bird......okay I WANT IT!

Yup! Me wantie Bad!
Is it just me or do those wings look like quarter sawn maple ? Why stop at the pick guard ? Chrome baby !
The one Nikki is holding in BP is a trans black and it looks like flame maple on the wings. No idea if the maple is just a top cap on mahog or if the entire wing is made of it. Either way, I have a feeling I know what I'm saving to buy next! ;D
The silver one (at least it looks silver to me) has the same 2 knob 1 toggle layout. Wonder if thats a new thing for T-birds in general?
I first thought the silver/white one had a chrome pickguard, but it could be a white one too. With reflection from the light on the guard or the transparent plastic cover, it looks chrome but could be just white?
I like toggle switches. The only thing I miss on my SG RI.

Ahhhh......... Chris here you are! Some folks have purchased gifts for our "wedding" shall we ask for a couple of new 'Birds instead?
Sorry, I was busy this weekend buying a wedding suit. It's very traditional, so you and your purple dress look even better besides me. It's a black suit, white shirt, a tie with little Gibson birds on it and a black hat. I'm getting myself a blackbird for the ceremonies.
Yes, people. Don't buy us cutlery, china, flowers, kitchen machines. We just want more birds. And RD's. Even First Act RD's!
Somebody notify the paparazzi. ;)

If it can fit 3 plus gravy......Ok!

3 plus gravy? What is that? A dietary reqirement of Fräulein Rommel to keep in shape?

Ja, natürlich. Why stop now when I have the orignal Gibson Blackbird (still the leanest sounding TBird in my collection) and the Epi Blackbird as well?
This new signature thing is interesting for the maple wings (I'm pretty darn sure those are wings and not just a thin top, one of the GoW Firebirds had maple wings too), that should really add another color to the TBird canon. TBird goes Rickenbacker so to say - not a bad idea at all. And it seems they have done away with the radical on/off toggle and now rather have controls
and a toggle that probably switches the pups individually. Plus the novelty optigrab and the acquired taste iron crosses have been deleted which should ensure this model a more lasting impact than the original Blackbird.

A bit Twiggy, a bit Nikki, but all birdie

What's the red Epi?
Allen Woody Rumblekat
I think dr bassman had a Rumblekat, or maybe he still does.
Dr Bassman's Rümbelkatze was shot down on a nightraid over ze Reich and now resides - under the comfort of the Geneva Convention it is assured plus the occasional Red Cross parcel - in Stalag(ibson) 17!

Sneakily he tried to to get it away via Ebay, but my searchlights caught him.

PS: Great film it was!
LOL - he's even got a genuine Gibson stool.
Are those TV Jones pickups?
Jawohl, that is what the good Dr Bassman implanted - not that it saved him from German flak!
And the Gibson stool was a free present, ok? :-[

I'm not saying you have connections, but is it true you've been heard talking long distance with a guy named Henry? :-X

Yep, I love those TV Jones pups. They'll probably end up in my Epi Sheraton project too. I do think I can get better tone out of them by using 250K pots for the tone controls. We'll see.
Here she is close up.....

Now that's how all two-pickups basses should be configured. At the neck and near the neck :)
It's a shame they couldn't fit three pick ups near the neck.
Yes, there would have been room between the 15th and 12th fret.
Three pups is a great idea, I just ran out of money while I was working on it!
:)
I'm looking at the pic again. I guess four filtertons'll fit too.
