Title: Chrome Humbuckers for LP carcasses
Post by: godofthunder on September 28, 2011, 02:13:08 PM
The HOG bought up some Lp basses with no hardware and now they want to put hardware on them to sell. Any sources for Humbucking size pickups ? The only think I can think of is Fralin, and I don't know if they are making them anymore.

Love to try these- They used to sell the same pickup marked with a B  as a bass version, but really are the same. Dimarzio's hottest pickup.

I have my 92 LP carcass waiting for some attention eventually.  I bought a set of the so-called TP plus LP style bass pups awhile back for it.  They'll go really nicely.  Doesn't SD or EMG make bass pups that fit an LP style ring?

This with all due respect

and best regards to Frau Dasson who hopefully still believes you that you are buying all these extra-basses not for yourself but for some crazy German collector!!!

+1 on the Pit bulls.  Nice pups for the money, I've used a few of them and they are good pups.

When I was looking for pups for my Hamer 12 string, I asked DiMarzio about the X2NB. Steve's reply was that I should use a pair of neck position D-Activator X pups. Similar to the X2N, but much better suited for bass. They sound great to me! Quite similar to a TB+.

I also make them.

I make both the regular guitar size and the mini humbuckers like on the EB-3s.

Those are "normal" humbuckers or sidewinders? I'd like to hear some samples!

I can make either one in those covers. I make neodymium humbuckers in both wide and narrow aperture, and sidewinders. I just started making neodymium sidewinders, and the first three of those were in standard HB size (but with plastic covers). I have no sound clips from this size pickup, but they sound pretty much like the other clips on my website.  ;D

Most of the people buying these have been to use in LP basses.
