Five Fender copies and a Gibson copy... how original!  ;D

At least the first one has a little of its own style, and it's long scale.

Hmmm. Not sure. No prices on the basses. In the store the wine guitar is 2500 Euros, the Fender copies are 1900-2200. I'm probably missing something, but it looks like just another set of boutique copies at high prices.

They even copied the hideous Antigua finish...

Wonder why that antigua tele bass has a pickup way down by the bridge since it already has one in the usual J bridge position.

Gotta be original  ;D

And what could be more original than a tele copy?  ;D  Oh wait, an original color like antigua. That makes it a double original.  ;)

Seems like my ancestors are getting unduly slagged here, especially since it can be argued they INVENTED the modern stringed instrument industry in Cremona.

How about the uncounted number of AMERICAN copy bass builders, boutique and not, churning out endless variations on the same theme...from Fender and Gibson on down?

That Hofner bass?  It's just a bad Strad copy ;)

I'm not slagging him for being Italian.

Besides, isn't a violin just a copy of an Appalachian fiddle?

To properly display these basses, you have to hang them upside down in a public place. ;)

Never thought of it quite that way, Dave - but the other half is German, so...
