Greco's have a GREAT tone....exactly like an Orville...but they are slightly off...Like the neck profile, the headstock...and the added tailpiece...whereas the Orville's are dead on...except for the fact that they are set neck....and the 3 point bridge (UGH!!!!). But this looks like a VERY cool piece being it has all of the candy with it. MY $0.02.
I love my Greco, it's such a loud, raunchy F*%&@r.
I'd agree about the bridge, but Scott's retrofits perfectly.........
I'd heard Paul Chandler designed the pickup based on the original Gibson design as opposed to the Orville - regardless I like them both ;)
I dig my Greco too, killer sound, but I'm not crazy about the size of the neck. It feels more like a Precision neck than a Thunderbird.
Paul Chandler didn't make those. The covers are not like the Chandler repros they used to make. I recently heard who made those pickups but seem to have forgotten. Yeah, the necks do resemble a P bass more than a Bird. Still...cool sounding basses......
Rare to see a Greco bird with the original case. And the price is right.

Reserve not met at the opening bid. Who knows how high it might be.
I love the sound of my Greco Tbird too. And I agree about the neck too...
In comparison to the narrower Gibson neck it makes the Greco a bit more tiresome to play.
Think "FenderBird" with a set neck and a "Thunderbucker"/60's Gibson pup - that's what JAE wanted when he went to PC - this one is styled TBII
Gotta love the original Greco beach blanket-sized towel :)

Yeah, I missed that. I'm used to eBay Australia, where there are no reserve prices allowed.
Final bidding reached $881 - reserve not met
The high bid isn't surprising. Maybe he'll realize he can sell it for that and lower his reserve.

IMHO he's still not being realistic. Time will tell.
