A DR201 has 200W from four power tubes and this one has the double amount of watts out of six tubes... I guess less reliable?
I'd love that, no way I can afford it.
That is a BEAST... 8)
It's priced over $1k above what it's worth. IMO, rare as it may be, it's still not a 5 grand amp.
There's one for sale at LarkStreet music in NJ for $3500. That one looks like it's been modded with a couple of cannon plugs in place of two of the speaker outs. No Genalex tubes FWIW...
I think Bad Ronbos sold for 4k as I recall.
Seriously, My 1972 200 watt is plenty O sound. I'd love to buy a 100 watt....or another 200 watt with 4 kt88...same as mine....
He's lowered the price to $4800 shipped.
I have no idea of the value but whenever someone starts talking about how much they have in it, it often means they're asking too much.

That's more in line with the actual value. Those are reissue Genalexes, which even though they are superior to their forebearers, are nonetheless worth less. If I didn't have a cat in cancer treatment with a backlog of over $1k in bills on top of the $8500 we've already paid facing another 4-5K to finish her treaments, and also NOT counting the treatments that Corey, our deceased cat, recieved and some mucho other emergency expenditures, I actually cannot bring myself to even THINK about
thinking about that amp. And BTW, I'd sell my last bass for my cats and my family.
Wow... doesn't sound like a lotta fun at all... how old is the wee beastie...?
She's ten. Our older cat was 14 when she was diagnosed with cancer and is now a four-year survivor.
Positive thoughts heading her way...
Hey y'all-
Just an update - Lark Street Music has dropped the price of the DR405 to $2500. Go get some!
