Title: For all you Non-Reverse Gibson 'bird Fans
Post by: bostonguitarrepair on May 10, 2008, 11:45:34 AM
Ok - I know this isn't a bass - though it would make a nice compliment to a Cardinal Red NR Thunderbird .. or maybe a Cardinal Red Bachbird ??   ;)

Just finished repairing a headstock crack on this Firebird - - 1965 Firebird 3 in factory Cardinal Red - a screaming beastie of a guitar !!!

The P90 ones look so mean. The coolest Firebirds IMO. That one is really good looking.

Nice job on the crack!

You're pushing me here!  :gay:
Seriously tho, that is one beautiful guitar (non-reverse) but then again all Firebirds are SO cool.

I've recently looked at a great recent Custom Shop NR Firebird for sale in San Antonio. And it's reasonably priced at $1,500. But I can't justify paying that much for another guitar (not that GAS ever needs justification).

Why is it that even the most well-intentioned and innocent remarks get dragged into the damp and slime-clad cavernous abyss of Mark's mind ...

But since we're at it: I've been complimented for this type of work before.  ;)

Just thought it was kind of a given here  ;)  Isn't an aybss a large empty space..........

I have very little self restraint and trying to *carefully* match wits with you is challenging Uwe. I dull myself regularly with alcohol, while you, being a good German probably keep sharp with the occasional glass of wine. Cheers.

Uwe's local Italian has a very nice Sicilian red wine!

Alcohol has never been a temptation for me (ever since my first and only alcoholic poisoning as a teenager that is!). I drink red wine or the odd glass of champagne regularly, but only when I'm having a rare business lunch or - more often - at a dinner with friends on weekends. There is not a single bottle of beer at our apartment unless we have beer drinking guests. And  - probably due to the juvenile intoxication which was administered with horribly cheap whiskey - I never cared for the harder stuff. Also - out of habit, not any sort of health conviction - I never drink by myself.

I've got two alchohol poisonings as a teenager, by mixing beer and tequila and some other stuff. I guess I took a hard lesson.
I'm too a red wine fan (I prefer dry stuff, not the sweet girlie ones) but beer is first on my list.
There are indeed germans who doesn't drink beer I see...

Beer: Sometimes in summer, but normally only while going out. Mass comsumption
Wine: A glass of red wine at home, almost everyday, but only when I'm at home. So like three times a week.
Whisk(e)Y: Winter, special occasions. I have a nice collection of Dutch, Irish and Scotch whisk(e)ys.

No poisonings yet, but I had some terrible hangovers....

I remember in high school my friends and myself would raid out=r father liquor cabinet and poor just a bit of each into pop bottles. We called them suicides. I remember drinking them and vomiting through my nose!

Then in those days they had 3.2 beer for 18 year olds.

Then I remember my worst hangovers from peppermint schnapps night at a bar, and a party where they were serving these shot things called "blow jobs".

I try to stay clear of any kind of candy shot things. Usually will just enjoy a beer or two.
