Title: Cost of Live Music
Post by: Bargeon on March 28, 2011, 08:05:09 AM
This was posted over on the TB-DB forum.
Worth sharing I think.

A lady called the union to inquire about the cost of a five piece band, plus singer, for a wedding.

The rep says, "Off the top of my head about $2,000".

She exclaims, "WHAT? FOR MUSIC?"

The rep responds, "Ma'am, I'll tell you what. Call the plumbers' union and ask for six plumbers to work from 6-12 o'clock on a Saturday night. I'll charge you half of whatever they quote."

She called back and said, "I get your point."

$2,000 is cheap for a wedding band.  Down here, wedding prices are the same as New Year's Eve - double normal rate.
