Baz?
Yep that's Joes work
Also looks like his prose. Beautiful work!
I Don't think that is Joe selling it but the it is the description he used to sell it a while back. That bass is the definition of want. I did the bird on the guard :)

I was wondering about that, thanks! Figured it was your guard
Very nice bass.
IIRC Baz sold it to board member MC2NY.
I still have the Big Pinkie ;)
Bass made by Bionic-Joe O'Quinn for Baz Cooper Ha! Ha! Ha! Thank you for your compliments. I sold it to Jon a year ago. Came out pretty nice. The Korina Body was made from lumber from the same people who sell to Gibson. Funny how he used my EXACT auction description and relisted the bass!!! I really wanted a Hamer 8 string thunderbird, so next I built a 12 string Hamer t bird, then a Hamer 8 string t bird.... then...and now...My FUTURA 8 string bass. which is the best sounding plaing 8 string I have EVER owned and played, even more than my Hamer 8 string!!!!! Will post pics later. Next bass build?????????????
Actually.....I took out 80 percent of the caps Baz had in his description and changed them to lower case....and that it "sound like an angry Panzer tank" ...and that "this bass kicks your a@#%$&!!!"...and some other stuff that ID'd it as a "Gibson" in the title and description, so the Gibson police at EBAY don't boot the listing. There are actually quite a few subtle changes in the listing.
It IS a really cool bass....but Baz told me that I have too many 8-strings and all my other 'Birds are reverse ones. When I bought it from him he asked that he be able to stop by to play it when he was in town....and the snow is melting fast and he is heading this way. So, I figure it's either sell it or feed Baz :)
It's definitely the most "authentic" Gibson of any of Baz's work. He was VERY obsessed about tracking down all the real parts for it. Even one of the pots is an authentic '60s TBird pot! (not sure why the other one isn't....maybe the other matching '60s one went bad?)
Really nice bass. Great price as well.
