Title: New Spector T-Bird budget model

I'm not a fan of the finish, but in a different color it could be cool. Says it will be available in blk cherry stain.

At that price I'd give one a go!

I already have a Spector hardcase for a Rex that should fit that!

I like it ...... Spector Legend's are really good basses for the money.

QuoteSays it will be available in blk cherry stain.

Actually, it says available in 3 stain options ..... I'm guessing Holoflash, Black & Red stain?

This is the same Stuart Spector who pissed and moaned publicly for years about Warwick copying his NS2 even though it happened after he sold his original company to Kramer and they chose not to pursue it.

I see no problem with him making a T-Bird copy but I wonder if he sees the irony.

IMO piss and moaners never do.  Their successes are theirs alone and their failures are due to someone else entirely.

Nasty finish. The neck sticks out a bit more than a real 'bird. Joins the body at about the 19th fret. Not a bad price for Korean. Probably a real nice bass overall.

May not be Korean at that price. May be Chinese.

In Australia we have a saying "as ugly as a hat full of assholes".  That finish qualifies for sure.

You really expect me to look at all the auction pics?  ;D

It's too damned ugly to look at the other pics.

Not a bad price, then, if you don't mind assault and battery on your optic nerves.

I've never understood the appeal of that finish. It looks different in person, but I wouldn't say it looks any better in person.

Finish aside ( I don't really like it either) I'm not all that worked up about Spector's execution of the Thunderbird shape.......It just looks wrong to my eye, and that headstock flat out doesn't work with it at all. Gibson's original design is still the best in my book.

I agree completely...as far as a budget Tbird, there is one.  Epiphone Pro IV.   Correct shape, correct headstock, through neck, decent hardware and electronics.  Excellent fit and finish.  Even has a gut cut.  $500.  Spend the rest of the $$ on some paisley spray paint.

Yes, rattlecan.  Mixed and packaged in Paisliestan.
