Really cool bass, but has some serious neck issues, like a crack or split running the length of it. Is this worth considering?

Hagstrom basses are pretty nice. My old 8 string had a really nice neck, it felt more like a Gibson 335 than a bass. I've got to say that Hagstrom necks are probably the most durable I've ever seen and I can't imagine what was done to destroy this one. I would consider their necks to be on par with a freakin' crowbar for strength and durability, so God only knows was this thing has been through, but for that kind of price, how can you go wrong.
The only issue I ever had with mine in about 35 years was all those little switches are kind of sensitive. I never replaced one, but I had to spray them out with tuner cleaner /lube pretty often and they always came back to life :).
Rick
The only Hagstrom experience I've had was in the early 70s. A 4 string,2 pup with Fender looking headstock. It, unlike Rick's had a badly frontbowed neck that was unplayable and unadjustable. It was cool looking though with an anodized aluminum piece in the middle of the p/g and 4 switches. The top was plastic. It's the model in the first picture here:

Mine was Daphne blue IIRC

That is a cool website! Love this old ad for the Coronado four and six string basses. I'd never seen a six string bass bisonic pickup before.
as i recall the ones with the plastic top has a thick, vinyl wrapped boby
Run away!
I don't know if Hagstrom necks are any more trouble prone than average but they have a very unusual truss rod, it's an H-bar that would be difficult if not impossible to repair or replace. And this one has a major neck problem.
Hmmm, it's up to $152 now with 30 minutes left. With shipping it's already nearly $200. I think I'll pass on this one although I really like the look of the bass and that color is awesome.
Colour is awesome!
Sold for $152. I was going to put in a snipe bid but reconsidered. Too busy with current bass projects and learning how to do a decent website.

Neither had I, which is why when I found out about their existence I had to have one. I found two, bought one.
