Title: SG Reissue bass on Dutch National Radio.
Post by: Chris P. on October 18, 2010, 12:09:49 AM
Dutch national radio asked us to play on the pop/rock channel 3FM yesterday. We played one song live and one for a podcast. We also did an interview. DJ Sander Guis said things like 'You guys rock!' and he wanted us to be Serious Talent. That's a special Talent program of that channel.

Here's a vid:

So - the SG Reissue is an EB-3 pickup configuration, correct?

Is it short or long scale?

That bass always has a classic look.

Short scale. Does have an EB-3 pickup configuration but the that's a TB Plus twin rail pickup in the mudbucker housing. Doesn't sound like a T-Bird though.

Damn it my home puter has a dead power supply, waiting on replacement to arrive. Until then I will be using the work machine to check in here. This unfortunately means that I cant see your vid Chris as YT is blocked at werk.  :/

Great bass sound, really comes out during the guitarist's solo!

+1

So, is that the natural sound of the disguised TB Plus? Because it sounds enough EB-ish to me, I like it!

An SG RI is to an EB-O-Lover what Fräulein Rommel is to a straight man: close enough to the real thing!

:D

The technician was really good and cool! I was DI'd only and first I heard myself back very DI-ish. Too trebly. He thought I used a pedal to get that sound, but when I said I was direct into the DI and I wanted to sound like a bass, he made it very well!

But would you do it diligently and with a Germanic rooted attention to detail?

Some determination and devotion to the task would be expected. Mobility too, it's just a jump to the left, and then goose step to the right, with your hand in the air, you click those heels real tight!
