Been a bit busy, I hate buffing out finishes.....but I like the results.
Should have it strung up and ready to play this weekend. I'll post more pics and a soundclip or two.

wow,absolutely beautiful.
Great job! Looking forward to more pics and soundclips.
wow, that looks fantastic; nice color selection!
That is just beautiful ! Love the color ! I bet that is going to sound awesome with those G3 pups !
Great job, looks great. excellent color.
Ein sehr huebscher G-3!
Very nice. A more Gibson-like finish than Gibson actually used on them.
Did these pickups come from the guy in Kalamazoo selling all those NOS parts?
WoW! Scott, its fantastic. Thats just beautiful work, nice job! :)
Lets see the headstock! (very nice FYI)

Wow, what a nice color for a Ripper and nice work, too!
It's the best of both worlds really: The Ripper was always let down by its pups for me, but I liked the construction. And the G-3 had great pups, but a slightly iffy construction. Screws in the neck just like that other - lesser - brand. ::) And then the scarfed neck which no matter how much sense it makes stability-wise will always look cheap to me. Not to mention that horrible trailer park quality bridge ...
ok but how do you really feel, Uwe? ;D
I'm actually with Uwe on this one (a pig just went by my 16th floor window btw).
That is the bass Gibson should have made.

The asked for headstock shot. More pics and clips soon, I may have the truss rod cover engraved and no decision on a logo, yet.
Thank you all for the compliments.

I have an Ibanez Ripper that came with two mudbucker looking pickups that have disintegrated. I'm thinking I need to bring it back to life as a G3 clone. That thing is beautiful!
I still have my 2"x9" mahog plank and a NOS gibby neck......Hmmmmm, Im off to evilbay. That is a damn fine example of what a bass should be. That is just incredible!M
by the way,.what is the neck angle in proportion to the top of the body?
..that really is a beautiful bass!!!
