A new gizmo from Kreg. It might come in handy for some of you. Priced at about $20.

Thanks Dave!  My 6" combination sqaure has fallen to wear and tear.  I've been looking at my options and I can't bring my self to spend $70 on Staret and the cheaper alternatives are crap.  This may be a viable alternative.  Now to see if I can find one ;D

EDIT:  $18.98 @ Amazon w/free shipping.  Just had the "War Dept." order this for me!  Thanks again Dave!

I sense that one of these is in my immediate future as well.

Gracias!

Looks like Lowe's has it in stock locally. I could use it for some upcoming home projects.

Remember, never wait until you actually need a tool to buy it.  ;D

You just gotta hate it when a manufacturer makes a concession so that their product is viable to the rest of the world ;D

Just checeked and looks like my local Lowes has it too - it's a buck more and I would have to pay tax as well - but when you want an new toy....

Picked one up today while at Lowes.  Thanks for the heads-up Dave!

I got mine yesterday and I'm impressed!  There is a little wiggle room when it comes to squareness but it is off such a small amount I'm not worried about it - I can set it dead square with regular square if need be.

I'll try to get out to Lowe's this weekend. Nearest one is much further away from me than Home Depot and Menard's, but neither of them will have it.

@ Ken: yeah that did amaze me when I was there. They did everything in imperial until I walked onto a building site and it was 100% metric. Although road signs did seem to have a certain confusion about them being one or the other depending on where in the country I was.

I've used metric everything for work for better than 15 years.  I know that it makes sense for woodworking as well but I just can not bring myself to use metric measurements no matter how hard I try - even if it means I have to stop and figure out what a fourth of 15/64's is

I would rather the Multi-mark have had a second side in 32s as opposed to metric.

This is a nice little gadget (probably no outlet here, as yet) and I get your dislike of the Metric system, Buzz, but even your measuring systems differ to the old "Imperial" system when you get down to it...

I remember the peculiaities of US and Imperial gallons in the aviation industry...

We all have to live with the differences... there will never be unification in our lifetimes...
