I think they originally came in root beer & cherry?
Very pretty. I like the blue ones best. I just wish they had gone with a straight up LP Jr. body and 20 frets.
EDIT - No! I'm glad they did it the way they did. Otherwise I'd have to buy one.
I think that is the dark cherry of the time - the photographs are just glary. That was a nice color though. I can't remember why I went for a root beer one. ??? :-\
Pretty color on that, hadn't seen it before - I like the blue quite a lot too.
I'm biased to a Blue money bass, it's a beauty color on it.
If it's not dark cherry, maybe it was a special Japan market color.

Maybe it was the classy gold hardware? 8)
Actually, that was an argument. I thought I only have one Gibbie with gold hardware (at the time that was my Custom Shop short scale Korina Explorer), I should try another one ... Dumb idea, oh well ...
Color of hardware probably has little effect on sound, right?
Gold hardware sounds like black hardware - when mixed with fungus it may become hazardous to your taste :P
my non-scientific listening tests indicate that gold hardware has a brighter sound while black hardware has a darker sound.
:P
Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaavvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
Something rotten this way comes. :P
I've developed a (B)lack of taste, the (G)older I've got...
