Title: Now THIS is neato!
Post by: Denis on March 09, 2010, 06:16:41 AM
If I hadn't just bought that Ric I'd go look at this. Looks like a cross between a fretless Dano and an Ampeg scroll bass.

I just looked at the wishbass website. M'god those are some FUGLY basses. Some of them look like they were made out of sheep intestines.

The neck and knobs still look bad. The neck definitely has a short-scale thing going on, and Ampeg scroll basses are famous for being larger than standard. I also think I've seen those bodies for cheap online. Wish's crap is all neck-through from what I've seen so maybe this is a first attempt by someone trying to one-up him.

This topic never ceases to amuse. I don't think those f-hole cutouts are tone chambers.  Maybe they're intended as nesting sites for brown recluse spiders when you leave the bass on the porch?

My wife just watched this. Her comments: "He needs to be f***ing shot," and "I think I just got stupider watching that."

It looks like the Eastwood 'copy' of the Scroll Bass.

The man has an ear for melody. Possibly a transposed one though.

if they did not show the bass those 'sounds' could be coming from sick livestock.

You're right. Instead of fretless "mwah" it sounds like fretless "mooooo..."
