Title: Cheesy corporate sponsors
Post by: Dave W on January 06, 2010, 09:26:52 AM
By now I'm used to corporate sponsorship of sports events (Konica Minolta Gator Bowl, etc.) even down to sponsoring individual baseball innings.

But this is a new low: Kraft Macaroni & Cheese: official sponsor of Texas Stadium demolition (http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/news/localnews/stories/DN-kraftimplode_01met.ART.State.Edition1.4bc22c5.html)

$5.8 million to take down the structure? Holy smokes! It's seems odd that Kraft Foods wants to associate with a structure that's full of asbestos.

Kraft are in the news in the UK for a potential takeover of the Cadbury's brand... selling off the pizza division (whatever that is) to get enough dough to sweeten up the offer... (add groan here)

At least Cadburys demerged from Schweppes. Wouldn't want Kraft Mac & Cheese to have Schweppervescence, the space-time continuum might come apart.
