Nice, but what is it? ???
Sorry, it's an Epi EB3.
Schweet!
Nice. Is it new?
Very nice Ray! Does it have the Gibby headstock?
Congrats! Mighty purty.
nice! ;D
Good looking! Rare color specimen has come up lately, thinking of that Pelham Blue some time ago.

It's lightly used. ;D It's also making a long trip from the Great White North so wish it luck!
It's my first EB3 ever, so I'm hoping it's a good 'un. Couldn't find one in the DFW area anywhere, looked on ebay last week, saw it, got it.
Looks great in white and those Epi Elitists are actually closer to the old Gibson EBs than the SG RIs.
This is the long scale one . I had one in cherry, nice bass for the money. I put a 60's mudbucker in mine, sounded great. Man they look so cool in white !
I must be getting old, but white basses are so cool looking! Don't know what it is. That Epi is a beauty in white too! The Elitists are very nice and great basses for the money. Nice score!
Welcome to the club!!!

Nice one Ray! White always looks tasty on the SG/EB:

You can't loose with white, black or cherry on any Gibson.
Although the pearl Pee white used on some of the 80's V's looks dated now.
Is it an Elitist? I thought it was just a white EB3. Could be a better score than I thought. ;)
All those short scale Jap EB-3s are de facto Elitists. Epi has never offered a non-Jap short scale EB-3, just a short scale EB-0 (which is bolt on) and a long scale EB-3.
If it's a long scale, then it's not an Elitist.
No matter what it is: it's nice!
The Who performed Tommy for the frist time at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Holland. It was one of the few time he used a white P90ed SG. Love the colour.
Tsk, tsk, Herr Moderator, one look could have answered that question - look at the initial pic and bridge location. On EB-3Ls any bridge has a hard time not falling off the butt of the bass.

Now that is nice! I remember seeing an EB2 back in the late 1970's with the ebony board and big pearl blocks. Must have been a custom order like this EB3?

Isn't that a beauty? According to the dealer, it was a custom order for a husband and wife duo - it supposedly has a matching SG sibling floating around out there somewhere. It was up on Gbase for a paltry $22K USD. Wonder what it actually sold for? Probably still way more than my lifetime bass allowance would provide for... and probably a cost that would preclude it from being sweated on at a gig!
Nice score on that Ray! It's looking real good ;)
hope it plays as good as it looks. ;D

But our dear Moderator is right. Look at these pics:

Anyway great looking bass.
Depends. On the 19-fret slothead long scales, the bridge is right at the end. But the newer Epi EB-3s look like they have 22 frets (as in Daniel's middle photo). Longer neck means shorter distance from neck end to bridge.
Yeah, I love the white look. There was an old Epi Newport up on Ebay a few years back that had been converted to the double pickup configuration, and refinned in white. I was *REALLY* tempted to move on that one.
Love the white on that bass. I had thought about re-painting mine Pelham Blue &( SB 400 , I did in white , )has some recording guitar pups in it. Im planning to put some single coils back in it when I find some.I played an orig SB 400 a while back w/ singles and I liked it a lot more.It is staying white & I have to make another set of surrounds out of Holly, but I need the single coils 1st.
Just another chime-in for the white finish - it looks great! Congrats....
Darn, I wasn't aware that Epi on their long scale EB-3 made the neck long enough to keep the bridge position. Mea culpa!!!
Ok, one more test whether its an Elitist or just the regular Epi in white: Is the vaitone a real varitone with 4 pos (then Elitist) or just a a mock varitone activating the pups like a toggle switch would (then reg Epi)?

Here's an old page with the Elitist: http://www.epiphone.com/elitist/eb3.htm. Dot neck, 20 fret. Even if they made any in white, the one Ray bought has inlays and 22 frets.
Just found the completed auction page and the link he lists is clearly for the longscale Epiphone EB3. I'd never seen one in white before.
