Title: Missing any luggage?
Post by: Dave W on November 04, 2009, 12:33:27 PM
Couple stole 1,000 pieces (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33611052/ns/travel-news/?gt1=43001)

...airlines stopped checking passengers' baggage claim tickets there sometime in the last 10 years as a cost-cutting measure.

That worked out well, didn't it?

I saw that on the news this morning.  The neighbors were saying that the pair were always having yard sales with all sorts of personal items.

Ain't that grand?!

I have to admit that when I saw that on the news, all I could think about was the line that I can expect to wait in the next time I have to get something out of baggage claim there.  :-\

Guess that's better than my missing luggage ending up at a hillbilly garage sale...

A thousand pieces of luggage can disappear from one airport and no one notices a pattern??? Unreal.  Makes you wonder how well they maintain the airplanes, clean the restrooms, and check for health compliance at airport restaurants...while CEOs continue receiving bonuses for their skilled cost-cutting.

They used to be REALLY tight with the luggage section in Phx. Last few times I've been there you could have walked out with just about anything. Getting into the boarding gates is still a pain tho.
