Wow! That one looks gorgeous! Congratulations!!
Sweet Mark!
Beautiful.
Looks like you're back on track, at last ;)
:toast:
Very nice !
Beautiful bass Mark!
That's a nice score, just don't see something that cool around here.
I love Grecos ;)
Very cool!
For the tribute gig?
Holy crap, that one's nice!
That finish looks even better than a Gibson! I've never seen a Greco EB2 before. Nice score. How much did it set you back?
choice!i like the 3 point bridge on there too.
Total including fees and shipping was just over $1000. This will get some time in the Stones tribute, for the early 60's set.
But you only bought another bass very recently!

And that one was short scale too!
A bass is a bass is a bass. I thought Mark had left the GAS road into damnation behind him. Yet here he goes again ... Last time they had to send him to the jungles of Indonesia to cure him ...
But I've heard rumors that the oath of marriage is beckoning. That could explain the hasty purchase of basses we are witnessing before wedlock cracks down ... ; - )
man what a great looking bass!

I figured I needed a "backup" short scale :-) Well, at least that's how I justified it to myself.

She spends her part time job salary on clothes, I spend my gig money on gear. It's all legitimate :-) 4 gigs with the Grease show and this one is paid for
By the way, I came across this bass while browsing the database at http://j-guitar.com/ - there are some nice used Gibbys and Gibby clones listed there.
The Greco EB-2'ho arrived today. Apart from some surface scratches on the pickguard (damn pick players!) this 22yo beauty is dead mint!

I bet it would look good on me ;D

Damn pick players? Says one of those grubby finger players that always wear away the fin deep into the wood just above the pup with their sweaty little thumbs. :-*
Congrats on the bass!
Sure is pretty! How do they sound?
Very nice!!!
Beautiful.
Greco makes great instruments.
Dang, dang, dang.
Much excessive droolage coming that bass's way from Colorado. Beautiful!
Beauty. Hope she plays as good as she looks.
Truly a thing of beauty... 8)
Oh, and by the way, I'm an idiot. All along I thought this was short scale because it's an EB-2/Rivoli, but I was playing it just now and realised it's long scale! Bonus!
That really looks good! Lucky you that it's a long scale. I've been keeping an eye out to find a trashed Epi dot that I could experiment with turning into a long scale EB2. How does the bass balance?
She balances fine, the body is heavier than I expected. Much heavier than the EB-2 I used to own.
Hey, wait a minute. Your justification was having a backup short scale. Now you'll have to sell it to one of us at a reduced price, otherwise your conscience will bother you.
Well, I bought the SG RI because I couldn't find a decent EB-3L or EB-4L, so I would have preferred to have faked the short scale look for the Stones tribute, so this one is perfect! I still really like the SG RI though. The SG RI will be the main Stones bass, and this one will be for when we do a show focussing on the early 60s stuff.
The long scale had escaped me too. So in fact it's a bit of an early Les Paul Signature clone. I didn't know anything of the like existed.
