Title: Hard case for EB-2 or Rivoli basses?
Post by: Aussie Mark on September 30, 2009, 05:02:07 PM
I've got my eye on a Greco EB-2 copy that doesn't come with a hard case.  Does anybody know if there are any aftermarket cases that will fit an EB-2 or Riv body shape?  I know an Epi Casady case will work, although the Casady is long scale so there is a lot of spare space in the neck compartment of the case, so just wondering if there are other options.

You are correct about the Epi JC Bass case...and there is ALLOT of extra room up top. They get really wide up there as well and are really a pain to carry around.

I bought one of these:

Nice English gentlemen in Wisconsin. They work well but are really thick...much like a hardcase for a Guild B-50 acoustic bass...he's padded them well and they fit nicely. I guess the best part is they are available now.

Good luck...might be worth a shot. I would e-mail/call him and chat before you jump to make sure it's what you want/need.

Those look nice, and the price is reasonable, at least in the US.

The extra room isn't all bad.  I put my strap and cloths up there.  There's room for other soft stuff as well.  Not all bad and good insurance.  I have my EB-2  and LP Signature in Casady cases.

The nice thing about the one in the eBay ad above is it doesn't appear to flair out as much like the Casady case.  I haven't found that a big problem really.
