Hey guys,
There's a guy on TalkBass who just posted a pic of a red NR T-Bird that he's looking to sell. It's been routed for a Jazz pickup in the bridge position. :'(
....Just thought maybe one of you fellers might be interested.

...must...resist....
Bad to see a mirror plate and this routing... :'(
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Strip it, plug the offensive J route and lay some veneer down to cover the repair. Certainly the proper bridge components are available.
The thing that would concern me is what's hiding under that paint at the headstock?
I know I shouldn't say that, but I kinda like the mirror guard ...
I'd love to rehab that poor thing. :)

It's very Phil Lynott. Which is always good of course.
Without doing a refin, it looks like it would convert to a IV pretty easily. The ring ought to cover the extremeties of the J-route. Bridge is another story, but the holes could be plugged and touched up, and the cover used to help obscure the lingering "footprint" left from that abomination that's on there now.
I've sent the guy a message. Maybe that one could get me back in the NR game... :)
It would be good to see you get one again, George. Of course, this may or may not be the right one.
You're right, Dave. At least it's a start toward finding the right one.
