I was watching Ebay on a Schaller 460 bridge, thinking I might grab another one. Final price was $190! I got mine for $70 a couple years back. There may be a recession, but it seems that some things are unaffected. This comes right after that Epiphone Embassy sold for $3900.
I agree. Some items have gone off the charts while most appear depressed. I see a lot of parts going higher than they used to. My theory is folks feel they can spend more on parts since they've cut back on buying complete instruments. I know I have. I've stopped buying anything except parts for my projects and tools for my shop. I've let at least 6-7 basses pass on eBay lately that I would have jumped on last year. Just trying to conserve!
GreatDealz did a great service to the builder and a lot of damage to the dealers.
Overpaying... "there's a sucker born every minute..."
We've all done it, to our cost... just need to be patient these days...

And you probably invested your $70 with Bernie Madoff. ;D
