And aside from the weird upper horn it's doesn't look that badly either.

I like the colour, looks and hardware, as you say except for the upper horn. It has those very strange and light pick ups of the Lace Helix.

Those pickups are Lace Alumitones, I hear they sound quite nice!

I like that. Kind of a NR/Jaguar thing going on. I'd play one!

It's Mosrite, non-reverse RD etc all rolled into one! Has something going for it on closer inspection.

Those Lace pups should not unduly worry anyone, I played them on the Lace bass, they sound like powerful single coils, very even, clear, but not sterile and plenty of ooomph. I would imagine that we will be seing a lot more of these on all kinds of basses in the future. They look pleasantly archaic in their simplicity.

Very cool design. Vintage looking yet some how modern

We reviewed a couple of Lace Helix basses for the upcoming De Bassist and our reviewer liked them too! I also love the simplicity.

You know, I was just over at Sam Ash on my lunch break, and saw a bass with those pickups.  Looks like I need to go back and give it a try.

I love the look and the lace Alumitones. I have heard they are very nice pups. I could not however  want to try to play 12 strings!!!! Great look & color etc.

That's what I mean with pleasantly archaic, lesser Chromelings have you wet your panties yet?

Funny that, Mosrite was the first thing that entered my mind...

The Laces look split-P-ish.

Sowing the seeds of discontent again?  ;)

So it's not so much a NR Bird as a flipped over version of First Acts RD spinoff?

No, just an observation. General split coil layout with blades instead of poles.

There's something about the shape that doesn't sit quite right with me. That, all the pickups, switches and knobs.  :P

It looks rather complicated, one (middle) pickup would be enough.
And don't forget that weirdo upper horn. Something to use a saw on.

To many pickups but I still like it. How much does one of these go for? Is it a one of?
