Title: Saw a T-bird in action last night
Post by: Denis on February 28, 2009, 07:17:38 AM
Out of the hundreds of bands I've seen play, I've neither seen nor heard a T-bird in action. Last night I went to a local bar, Slim's, to see the Octane Saints, and there was a Gibson T-bird. Holy crap, the sound was awesome! I had to interrogate him about it after the show.

Before last night I did not know that Gibsons have the front strap pin at the base of the neck while the Epis have them on the front horn. I suppose the reason is that the Epis have the bolt on neck while the Gibs do not. I'll have to relocate my pin then.

All this is elementary to everyone here, but I'm still learning!

The old Nikki Sixx Blackbird had the pin on the "horn" to. It is commonly moved by players with Gibson TBirds old and new, but I prefer the original position. Funny thing is that the Epi with its bolt-on neck has better high register access than the neck through Gibbie.
