Title: Catholic News ...
Post by: uwe on May 08, 2025, 02:44:52 PM
A Yank, well it had to happen sometime and given that seven out of nine current Supreme Court judges are Catholic ...  Still, it must have been difficult to find an American who speaks so many languages fluently ...

But then, people called Bobby are always good guys ...

I would have loved it if he had chosen "Bob the 1st."  Guys named Bob (and variants thereof) all around the world would have felt grand!

You'd just have to love "Pope Bob."

If he can lean on the Catholic Supreme Court Judges, this country might be better off.

I was really hoping he'd choose Pope Pizzaballa I.

A Chicago guy at that! Communion wafers will now be replaced with a square of pizza.

Fun fact: "balla" in greek means ball, but usually means football. Now, if this guy name was Beer...

I loved what Steve Colbert did that night - his commentary on the pope ended with a Chicago section, which concluded with a Saturday Night Live inflected "Da Prayers." Perfect!
