Why would you want to spend money on something sensible if you can waste it on an impulse-bought bass guitar?

"Sensible" is relative.

When she came out with this, I was convinced she had to be one of the sexiest women on earth.  It may be old hat now, but in 1981 it was new and fresh.

By her own admission, early Nena patterned herself after Kim.

She returned the favor decades later (after the Milllenium) and resurrected Kim back for pop music (after the latter had become more popular for her gardening show in England than for her musical past) and invited her to tour with her etc.

Kim went back to recording and touring.

Michael's hormonally charged observation belongs rightfully here:

In terms of sexiness, they were about on the same level for me, with Nena possibly having a very slight edge.  There was no contest going on, but I guess that's just the way my brain was perceiving things.  There was a lot to process for hormone-driven males.

And if I may add: Both Kim and Nena were nothing less than chastely in comparison to most dance acts today where a strip club atmosphere is never far away. They flaunted an uncontrived, natural*** rock/pop-chick female sexuality, you could enjoy their vids and live performances without any porn-guilt creeping in. Sure they dressed and were made up to look the part, but again it was all within reason (yet attractive enough to dim your own). Vocally, neither of them was Aretha Franklin or Karen Carpenter, but they had nicely recognizable voices with Kim probably being technically better and Nena making up for it with charm.

***In case of Nena, for American eyes probably slightly disconcertingly so, you guys know how weird you are:

I'm glad to be back on the right thread.

Now the subject seems to have moved to armpit hair.  This appears to be a fairly recent development in that some women, especially younger women, are deciding not to shave under their arms. My guess would be this is something which started during the pandemic, but which is now continuing.  I just looked it up and there are articles all over the place about this now.  Of course this was already prevalent in Europe, but I'm talking about the U.S. now.  Personally, I'm neutral on the matter.  I just don't care one way or another.

Nena - already a grandma a decade ago - started shaving sometime in the latish 90ies, maybe the armpit hair was graying and dying it darker might have created scenes otherwise only known from former dignitaries of US East Coast cities at inaugurations of landscaping facilities, I dunno.

I don't mind the furry little critters in armpits or on more convex parts of the female anatomy for that matter, not everyone has to look like a porn star at work.
