I think he uses these for his solo bit, and then destroys them at the end:

I guess its good that he's not smashing up Gibson 'birds, but these play pretty nice in their own right. Andy (Nokturnal) was kind enough to let me try his Epi NRs out a while back.
I think I would have a hard time smashing up any bass. I'd be like JE - avoiding the chaos, and maybe even throwing my body on top of the bass to protect it if necessary :)

...unless it was the old 80s Korean Sears bass that I learned on. Then I'd happily set fire to it.
I wasn't doubting that Nikki smashes Epis. But the seller's claim that he smashed this one is spurious since he provides no evidence.
Oh sorry - I misunderstood. Yeah if this guy gets a grand out of that bass, then smashin' Epis might be a lucrative business venture! ::)
Maybe some documentation would be in order if he wants to start " this piece of........oh yeah, history " out at a grand. Be interested to see if the the item ends early due to an error in the listing ;D.
Strange seeing Nikki play a T-bird without the opty grab.
Oh well maybe non-reverse style epi t-birds don't need it.
Oh err...

Who said that Nikki didn't smash his Gibsons?
This one didn't survive the Brides of destruction tour and Nikki himself put it up forsale for some profit organisation or something like that.
But I have to say that this one looks salvagable

I was referring to the seller's claim regarding the bass he's selling.

It's in all caps and an extra large font, so it must be true. :P
If you read it very carefully, he avoids saying directly that Nikki Sixx smashed this paritcular bass.
Didn't know Nikki played fivers ::)

What's funny is when I read things typed this way, the tone and volume
are different (loud and grating) in my head as I read it. Anyone else experience this?
Yea, that must be why it's called shouting. Generally I just don't bother reading more than the first sentence.

Yes, me too.

what sad and funny at the same time, when we got our first computers at work, thats the way my partner would type. I told him it was SHOUTING and was sooooooo pig headed claiming it's easier to read for him.
Anyway during a contract negotiation the other lawyer replied to him WHY OR YOU SHOUTING!
That shut my partner up pretty quick.
HAS ANYONE..... ooops! Sorry about that. I got caught up in the the excitement of the Nikki Smasher.
Has anyone noticed that " Satans' Lil Buddy " has been scatched into the " Finnish " ?!?
How do our friends in Finland feel about that?
Couldn't resist,
Scott
Oh yeah, reserve hasn't been met...........................

The sad part is that he can smack that baby on the floor four times before anything breaks, but a Gibson bird can tip over on a carpeted floor and the headstock breaks off.
Even if Nikki played & smashed this one, is it worth over $1000? It wasn't his main stage bass that he smashed, just disposable one's that he only used for the purpose of the solo/smashing part of the show. Even if the story is true & he had papers to prove it, most people wouldn't pay that. There have been other Nikki smashed Epi NR's on Ebay before and I don't think they ever got close to that amount.
