He wasn't exactly unsung, but he never got his due. One of my favorites out of all the great New Orleans musicians.

He never quite got over being shafted by (Ace Records owner) Johnny Vincent, who took his vocals off of Sea Cruise. claimed co-writing credit, and released it with vocal track by Frankie Ford, allegedly b/c he felt a white boy would appeal more to white girls. Ironic if you know anything about Frankie Ford, who was flamboyantly gay.
