It's not going to be up long , but it's a later 4001 that's been hacked , rebuilt , and painted with a Union Jack , asking price is $1000 Cdn , cheap!

To be honest , I think I'd prefer an old beat to crap hack job Union Jack over a fresh one. It's the cheapest local one I've seen in years.
I had mentioned this ad to several friends that were either looking for a 4001 or unable to walk by a bargain , but it was quickly scooped up by another friend.
Halifax is not a big city.
Not often you see a Ric relatively intact for $1000 Cdn. It's off to a great home too.
They got the Union Jack the right way round, which is something most Brit Nats struggle with. You have a 50% of getting it right yet they display upside down UJs 90% of the time.
I didn't realise this level of fondness for the commonwealth could still be found in remote areas of Canada!
In Nova Scotia there's still a big Irish/Scottish thing , and a big German influence on the South Shore.
And despite the Great Expulsion of 1755 there's still some Acadians around.
Today Arabic is the second largest spoken language though ...

Presumably those Irish and Scots would be in no hurry to buy anything with a UJ on it, given the history of all that.
Most seem to have buried the anti English bit , and the Catholics seem ok about the Protestants here too .
Heck even the Campbells are accepted.
Sounds far more civilised than here! ;D
I'm nominally reading John Prebble's 'Culloden' and it puts to bed any idea that any part of that era of history is cut and dry or easily summarised.

Their tomato soup, too?
Last I heard, the Union Jack has a white background, not a yellowish cream one. But maybe someone was trying to emulate the Spare'e fetching desert fox tone of yore? What do I know.
