I've been jonesing to get into Hofner territory for a few years, except I didn't want a 500/1. I was considering a Club, but then saw one of these and the look kind of spoke to me. It's a Contemporary, so not a real hollow body (it's got a block), but with LaBella flats and a decent setup, it sounds like I hoped it would. It's super comfortable to play as well.

The song starts about 1:10 in. You can't see the bass all that well but you can hear it well enough to get an idea of how it sounds.
Very nice. I think that might suit me better than the Contemporary violin basses I have. Violin basses are fine. But they don't suit everybody, including probably not me very much, either.
Nice ! I'm a fan of shortscale hollowbody basses and flats .
Nice looking bass, and the setup and strings sound just right!
I like the song. The bass sounds very good and is also beautiful.
Very cool.
Diggin it. Nice roof top too.
Thanks, guys! I have to say, I'm really pleased with this one. I can foresee this becoming one of my favorite basses.
I enjoyed everything about that, nice work!
I have the sunburst and I love it. Great bass. Nice weight and it plays a bit more normal than a 500/1. Great sound.
Fun fact: I reviewed the long scale Höfner Verythin and I compared it to my short scale. The neck is exactly the same. They just put the tune-o-matic kinda bridge of the long scale more to the back, a few less frets, and of course in a different position. But apart from some minor details it's the same bass!
I'm glad I posted about this bass. I was a little hesitant, since it might be seen as a lesser model, but I was really impressed with it and am glad I bought it. Is it bad that I really want the sunburst one now as well? I guess (unlike Uwe), I DO collect for finishes!
