Seems much inspired by Gibson of yore, except that headstock!

A lot of Serek's stuff seems "Gibson inspired", at least to my eyes. The headstock on this one has somewhat of a Warwick flavour I'd say.
I've never played any of his basses though. Wouldn't mind trying out a couple of them someday, although I'm not likely to be a part of his target market.
I came across a video of him playing one of his basses with a P-90 shaped pickup (but 4 pole). IIRC he winds them himself. Sounded good. Mahogany body. Definitely Gibson inspired.
The headstock doesn't quite work for me but the body is cool, the love child of a Q80 and a Grabber = a not so Fat Bottomed Girl!
I, too, find the Grabber influence appealing. This is really a nice looking bass.
Tim Lefebvre plays a few and also a famous Dutch player. Great basses!
I like it. Bastard child of Ripper and Victory. The Vipper.
There's a 32" scale option. Specs for weight are "6-9 lbs". I'd take a 6 lbs. 32" bass any day.
Someone has to break it to you, Ilan: You're way too tall and lanky for anything but a long scale bass! Short scale basses are to tall people like fetish sex: A guilty (I'm Catholic!) pleasure, yes, but keep it confined to the bedroom please!
There, I said it where all others chose to remain silent. 8)
Here are two pics of me with a 30" mustang and a 25.5" 6-string piccolo bass otherwise known as a Tele.
You're too tall - face it!
"6-string-piccolo-bass" :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I am thinking that I finally need to get an EB3 though.

Forget about the Mustang, tell us about her.
She's the weather girl at Channel 12 News where I'm employed. We're in a band called The Bad News. All guys from work.
See, that is why Dave is Administrator here: He brings any straying discussion stiffly back on track.

The way I heard it, there's no charge, they only work on tips.
You're a ghastly bunch.
Heard about the guy who makes wallets out of foreskins? Rub it and it turns into a suitcase.
Problem is, in cold weather it shrinks down to a key fob size.
It's cutting edge technology.
And that's just the tip.
I understand how all you Yanks must somehow verbalize your crippling loss at an infant age and make light of it. Keep going, let it all hang out.
In Europe we prefer hoodies.
One man's hoodie is another man's helmet.
What the Lord giveth, man shall not taketh away.
That applies to wisdom teeth, tonsils, appendixes and gall bladder too - I'm still intact, give or take the odd knee joint!

I hope Jake Serek doesn't see this thread.
It's taken an unusual turn but maybe it's finally coming to a head.
Let me state this clearly: It had nothing to do with his real nice bass.
You guys just drag everything down to your bottomless level of filth.

Yes, in a "good stupid" sort of way.

Zappa seemed to like bassists with character who played a little 'out there'. The bassists weren't always the most technically able members of the Mothers, whereas the percussionists, keyboard players etc all had to be well drilled. Especially towards the end he liked having Scott Thunes in the band, even if Scott made mistakes. Scott played powerfully, and Zappa could take lengthy guitar solos.

Speaking of sophomoric, my wife was hesitant to show this to me, but once I finally saw it I got endless amounts of joy from it.
