Pete has been an inspiration to me (other than the partying) since 1979 or so. One of my all time favorite bass players and rock stars. I wanted to look like him, wanted to play like him, and wanted to make music as good as his band did. I don't know if I ever mastered any of those, but I still enjoyed many, many hours of music over the years because of him. Stripes and polka dots forever...

RIP. It seems unfortunately ironic, and slightly Tap-esque, that a guy who lived 'at pace' was felled by a domestic accident of some sort.
