Title: Telescopic strap button
Post by: ilan on December 11, 2019, 02:40:39 AM
I wonder why no one makes retrofit telescopic arm strap buttons to balance neck-heavy basses, like the Russians did in the 60's. It's not a bad idea.

You'd have to drill quite a deep hole into the upper horn. Not a very attractive idea if you'd ever want to sell the bass.

A former owner of my Alembic had installed a brass strap pin extension at some point. It was gone when I got it, and there is absolutely no sign that it was ever there.

Then it wasn't a telescopic pin like that Russian bass features.

That's true.
