I saw a 1964 Eb2 the other day in fairly good condition. Some buckle rash and a well executed headstock repair. Color is a sunburst.
What would be a realistic price these days?
There is one on Reverb for $2,499 without a headstock repair.

The VG Price Guide says $2,200 to $3,000.
Thank you!
IMHO the VG price guide is usually unrealistically high.
The highest priced recent sale of an EB-2 or Epi Rivoli on eBay is this unbroken 1960 (https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gibson-EB-2-EB2-Electric-Bass-Guitar-1960-/152748661109?epid=97452124&hash=item2390879975%3Ag%3AxhoAAOSwIJlZ52ex&nma=true&si=%252BPHH8ghWXiqsq14Q1aY%252FzD5AV%252BQ%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557) with some mods that just sold for $2600.
Probably irrelevant but i bought my beaten to crap 64 eb2 for nz$400 in 1987.
I wouldn't mind paying north of 2 grand for a decent EB-2, the new Thunderbird might have some people scratching their heads. Sweetwater just raised prices on all the new 2018 Gibsons.

I just looked. January 3rd and they've raised 2018 prices 10%. :o That will stimulate sales, all right.
