A dynamic and very unique artist. He will be missed by many.

Mine too! RIP Fats
RIP Fats. Here's one of my favourites: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UoJZj-Sqm1Y
RIP Fats
I remember my brother and I bought a Fats Domino LP for my dad for his birthday when we were very young.
Because we thought he would like "this kind of music for elderly people"
Turned out our dad didn't care for rock n roll / boogie woogie at all. :o
A personal favorite -

Dave Bartholomew (who co-wrote most of Fats' big hits) is still with us at age 98, if Wikipedia is correct.

There's only one Fats Domino. And when, one day, the rock 'n' roll age has permanently faded, when a new flood has come, people will still want to feel good, people will still NEED to feel good. And Fats will still be there with rings on every finger, and plenty of thrills for us all to find.

I ran across this a few months back and was discussing with a friend how cool, yet how surreal it was (especially knowing McGuinn's reputation for being such a sour puss). RIP to a great talent and a guy who comes across in every interview as the nicest, most humble rock star in the world.

It is always a shock to discover someone iconic is still around, long after you thought they had gone, even if they now have... rip...
Ain't that a shame indeed. :-\

89 years is pretty good for a guy nicknamed Fats. He even outlived one of the Fat boys. Chubby Checker might need to worry but he isn't really that fat. What's more amazing is "The Great Fatsby" Leslie West is still kicking around, one leg only now, but still kicking and playing. I think I'll have some salad for dinner tonight.
NY Times has a nice article with 12 essential tracks (https://www.nytimes.com/2017/10/25/arts/music/fats-domino-best-songs.html)
One of my favorite Fats songs was not a big hit. Later covered by Dion and the Belmonts.
