Just shoot it ( or me! )

Let's see one bass with 50 sounds or 50 basses with different sounds?......................

50 basses...................

Gary,
It's what I do, so for what it's worth......$80 for a new nut, set up (new strings?) fret dress, etc. seems about right, $65 or maybe a little less would be my "friend" deal.
$1200 for a refin (esp. if you're shooting over an existing finish and not stripping it down to bare wood and starting over) is outrageous.

Looks good Scott!

Hey did you have to dowel the original holes and redrill to fit those tuners?  I'm planning to order a similar set for mine, but when I hold the Bach headstock face-to-face with my 76 it looks like the spacing between tuners is too narrow to fit them as is.

It's pretty tight, but all I had to do was drill the new holes for the vintage tuners, the holes for the smaller stock tuners were completely covered so I didn't even bother filling them. Be aware that the BaCh bushings are a little larger, I used a little masking tape to get the vintage bushings tighter, about one "turn" did it. Once you get them all in, the edges of each tuner will be touching. My " '76 " Orville has a little room between each edge too.

That looks GREAT! One of Scott's pickguards would really complete the transformation.

That's next!

Thanks Guys,

S.

Gosh......( in my most naive Okie voice ) wasn't someone going to review a bass here?

Oh wait I forgot where I was for a moment......dwarves, parachutes, questionable behavior, all we need are a few Messerschmitts.........

Ok, gotta go, I'm already doing some mods ( not that it needs any ) let's say I'm personalizing it. Pics soon.

And Thanks Rob!

"Your item was processed through and left our OKLAHOMA CITY, OK 73125 facility on July 2, 2009. The item is currently in transit to the destination. Information, if available, is updated periodically throughout the day. Please check again later."

Well I can only hope this means Mr. Postman will have a package for me tomorrow, for once I'm looking forward to going to work. That's not entirely correct for the most part I don't mind going to work, except when there is to much work involved, man I'm still a slacker!

Let you know tomorrow!

All three and you'd be like Entwistle!

Ummmmm! That's temting.............wait no it isn't!

These are amazing basses for the money.  I still can't believe I have one!  Does anyone know how many of the original 50 people on the original list have gotten one?

Bass VI, mine took 6 days to arrive once it left Czech Republic.

I'd be interested finding that out also, on Robs' original e-mail list my name was #10, but I was pretty late to the party in receiving mine ( snafu with criss-crossed emails ) actually it's worked out better for me getting a black one, a color not available in the first run.

Let you guys know when it arrives,

S.

I have such mixed fellings about MJs' life/death that I don't quite know what should be made of it.

Certainly his talent (however you choose to judge it) can't be denied, that being his impact on music videos, his ability as a dancer, breaking MTVs' "race barrier", the number of other artists who chose to work with him, the extent of his "celebrity".

On the other hand/glove, how much more bizzare could anyone be? I'm not talking "secret serial murderer bizzare" I'm talking huge public figure. Almost incomprehensible.........

Surely, he was his own worst enemy but equally a victim, didn't this poor guy have anyone in his circle of friends or family to intervene? As anyone who has had to deal with someone hell-bent on destroying themselves knows, this can be difficult (difficult? hell almost impossible) especially if the person is at the top of a power/psycological/money food chain.

The circus that will surround this (and I fear the circus will be in town for months, maybe years) might even overshadow all we've allready experienced. Hour by hour updates, tributes, I read a qoute from a fan in England who said "His funeral will be bigger than Dianas'".......think about it, where will they bury the poor guy (remember they finally had to move Elvis to Graceland after attempts to steal his body) do you thinks Jackos' remains will be any less a prize to someone?

In the end I think America and the worlds' appetite for the "Star Crash" ( yup that's where the name of my band came from ) won't be satisfied until every last bit of whatever Michael Jackson was has been digested, regurgitated, investigated and commercialized to a degree.........well to a degree well past anyone here will care to go.

"King of Pop" or "Wretched Excess" probably both........RIP MJ.

After I sent the wire I didn't hear anything until I found the package on my doorstep. If they got the money, you'll get your bass, I'm sure.

Well......someones got my money!

Man, I hope mine gets here!

Emailed Roman, Transferred money Thursday ( although bank said it might not go out til Friday ), verified transfer Friday, More emails....unanswered.....verified receipt of money ( in Euros ) Monday, more unanswered emails.......I hope it's a Friday/Monday thing in the Czech Republic, you know " we don't get anything done on Friday 'cause it's Friday and we have to play catch-up on Monday 'cause we didn't get anything done on Friday " it works that way at my job sometimes  ;).

Come on Roman!

Looks good GOT!
