Title: Mecum Auctions
Post by: Dave W on December 11, 2019, 09:29:32 PM
I had heard of their auto auctions but wasn't aware that they are now doing guitars. Take a look at their featured lots for their upcoming February auction (https://www.mecum.com/auctions/kissimmee-2020/lots/guitars/featured/). John Entwistle's Buzzard (https://www.mecum.com/lots/FL0120-401666/1990-gold-warwick-john-entwistle-buzzard-customized-bass/) in particular. These apparently were unsold from an auction last fall.

If you click on the All Lots button below these four, there are a few interesting pieces, including a '67 Ric 4005 and a '64 Gretsch 6070.

Wow, tractors, road art and other stuff too.  Maybe they're branching out - I only knew them for cars.

The Mecum auction was in Denver this fall - I went to it with my daughter's boyfriend.  We spent hours just walking around and looking at the beautiful cars there. It was a mixed bag of cars worth from $10K up to "wow". I highly recommend just going and gawking!

That's very close to me.  I will try to make at least one of the main days.

I'm curious about the reserve on the Buzzard, since it didn't sell last fall.
