I think I came from Sears in a plain brown wrapper.

Hey, we're all mutts of one kind or other.  Both my dad's fathers (includes my bio-dad) were coal miners and my mom's dad a carpenter.  I was only the second person on both sides of my family to graduate from college in 1972.  No one was highly educated, rich or privileged, everyone just worked their butts off.  I admire them all immensely.

my dad got his degree in 1966 at age 42, after going to night school for eleven years while working full time at at&t. needless to say i'm very proud of him. he is now 90 and plays tennis a few times a week as well as local theater.
