Tina Weymouth!  Such cool basslines.   I used to play along with "Stop Making Sense" when I was learning and had nobody to play with.
Basses: Gibson lpb-1, Gibson dc jr tribute, Greco thunderbird, Danelectro dc, Ibanez blazer.  Amps: genz benz shuttle 6.0, EA CXL110, EA CXL112, Spark 40.  Guitars: Danelectro 59XT, rebuilt cheap LP copy

Tina Weymouth!  Such cool basslines.   I used to play along with "Stop Making Sense" when I was learning and had nobody to play with.

A previous band I was with used to cover Crosseyed and Painless.  Always dug the heads.

This made me think of her Hofner club.  Guess that's not a rare or exotic bass, but what the heck...
(I also like the Belew antics toward the end)

...and on the subject of Hofners, here some big and woolly 500/1 sound:
(bass comes in at 2:15)

...and tight and smooth sound:

Spotted this oddity.
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

Guess they are still in production too.

Joe... it doesn't have to be "rare" to be "rare", just instruments most of us have never seen or had the chance to own or play... ;)

Bruce Palmer, a true Gent, and a Kramer DMZ, I think... I have pics from the three nights at Wembley but none to hand...

Beat me to it Gweimer. I'll second that analysis. Re: the Mountain vid.
