I got the blue BaCHbird.

I guess I got lucky, Gary was on the list before me, but after seeing the first pictures in this thread of the blue and black birds I sent an email to Roman requesting a blue one. The next day the invoice showed up in my inbox.  I went to the bank to wire transfer that day. More than a week later Roman sent an email that it had shipped, and because of the length it had to go EMS. It arrived exactly a week later.

Looks like the control knob is where the jack output should be (Already mentioned?)

Old and new side by side:

It looks like I must like where the jack is.

Some other things I've noticed:

1. The tailpiece is farther away from the bridge. I tried to put a set of Chromes on it but the silks went over the nut about 1/4" (Also the A string was too big for the slot in the nut)

2. The pickguard is smaller and a different shape, but I like it.

3. The neck is  a little bit wider at the nut, but again, I like it.

4. The logo. It's in the wrong place and it's silver. But I like it!

 Thanks for the shot!

The blue is SO cool, I'm insanely jealous.
I must be on Roman's s#&t list 'cause I haven't any email for some time now

I'm going the other way, I'll try to keep mine as stock as possible. As a document how affordably you can build something that looks both different and sounds well. Not that mine has yet arrived!!!

Although my Gibby is much modified, the Bach is staying stock!

Regardless of the price, the Bachbird is a custom built limited edition, and at this point I may have the only one in America. I did change the strings, but that's all for now.

edit: I said "for now", but no, I don't want to change anything, I like it the way it is.

I don't think Roman has a s#!t list. I think he is shipping these all by himself, and he has a long list. I'm sure all will get their basses eventually.

Maybe I got mine first because I'm half Bohemian. I probably have relatives over there!

Alright.  I got my invoice and I'm making the payment tomorrow.
I had requested a white one and never heard back about it.
The invoice showed up and the bird was listed as being white.
Is it safe to say that's what I'm gonna get?  Hope so.
Mojo's bluebird looks sweet though.

Hey guys, I was sleeping on the PDF of the pickguard.
Would anyone mind shootin' it over to me?

Thanks again for everything.

Here's the PDF of the pickguard that I drew:

Remember to print it 100%. Do not chose "fit to page" when you're printing, cos it'll be scaled down.
The red outline is the part that should be bevelled.
I left the Pickup hole out because some of the Dutch guys wanted to install a different pickup with other dimension. So everybody had to cut out their own pickup hole.

I agree with you herr moderator, the only thing I'm gonna change is the crappy electronics.
When I opened the back cover and I saw those microscopic noname pots, well, I instantly think about CTS.
I'm not gonna change the pickup, I really like its bright sound. I mostly play angry fingerstyle so it's a nice match!

I actually prefer the pickguard of the Bachbird - leaves more of the bass to see and looks a bit more playful than the very utalitarian-shaped original.
