With all due respect, Herr Moderator, that "with a pup" was referring to the mudbucker EBs come with not the Melody Maker guitar pups of the 300/400 or the humbuckers of the 350/450 series!!! The latter pups pick up the full frequency spectrum nicely, in fact the charm of the 300/400 series is the purity and eveness of the single coil all across the bass' frequency spectrum. Solely the mudbucker is the frequency bottom dweller.
