Dennis Dunaway sig
« on: August 01, 2011, 05:30:50 AM »
Part of a Rotosound press release:
Dennis Dunaway, co writer of “School’s Out”, has used Rotosound RS 66LD 45-105 Swing Bass strings ever since. In fact the Fender Custom Shop will soon announce a limited edition of the Billion Dollar Bass, which is a remarkably detailed replica of Dennis’s original 1970 Fender Jazz Bass that he used on the majority of the Alice Cooper Group recordings. This was the first bass that he used Rotosound Strings on, to record "School's Out."

No disrespect to Dennis Dunaway, I just can't see the appeal.

Some of these limited editions are only 10 or 20 instruments, if that. Who knows, if it's that few, maybe they can find buyers for them.

In the realm of most ridiculous sig models, this one isn't even close. Not saying I'd buy it, but there is far worse.

One of my old guitar players (Rick Tedesco) has been playing with Dunaway the last few years. Rick just released a solo album after all these years that is pretty decent. Rick also owns/plays Mick Ronson's old Les Paul and Marshall from the Bowie days....cool pieces.

May I comment at this point that he is not a very creative bass player?!!!!

Unlike Herr Dunaway whose contribution to creative bass playing cannot be diminished even by his ugly signature model.

THIS is great! My first experience with AC. I was sitting in the family room, minding my own business, watching Night of the Living Dead, when in trucks my older sisters and their long-haired, druggy boyfriends, who proceed to flip over to channel 7 because Alice Cooper is going to be on. "Who's she?" I ask...  :P (c'mon, I was 8!) I was hooked. For some reason, I'll never forget the garbage can part...
