Powder blue Musicmaster
« on: April 30, 2011, 05:15:06 AM »
Like 15 years ago I wanted to play bass. A friend offered me to go to a local store and he said they had a powderblue and a black Squier bass. Of course I wanted the poweder blue one, but that was a short scale. My friend and the shop owner told me not to play short scale, so I went home as a prowd owner of a black Squier P, which I still have.

Since that time I want a powder blue bass. I even bought a light blue suede Fender-strap, which mu ex-girlfriend stole when she bought a great little Ibanez Artcore guitar. Some sort of hollowbody LP-kinda guitar.

The last couple of months I was looking at Musicmasters and Mustangs again, but all where to expensive. I used to own a yellowed '76 MM, and I regret selling that one. I never heard of a Squier Musicmaster Bass, but first I saw a black one with matching headstock and then a white one. Both were sold before I could react. I learned they made those in '97 and there are also pink and blue ones. Two days ago Berth mailed me: There's a powder blue one online now for 250 euros. Wow! I wanted a blue one and this seemed to be a similar bass as I didn't bought around '97... It was six minutes online, I bought it and monday it'll arrive!

Congratulations! That's a great color and the matching headstock looks cool on that one.

Those are reputed to be very good basses, and the color is great.  Good luck with it!

They are great. I've never had such a good bass for so little money ..... With the Vista PUP she sounds like a mini 51-P ......

Congrats Chris ! But I thought PeterB had dibs on that bass ??

I believe Peter didn't want it in the end.

This one has an original Musicmaster pickup installed, but the Vista-pick up is also in the case. I also have a TV Jones around somewhere...

Thanks, I'm very curious about how she'll sound. I know more next week:)

Congratulations on getting something that you have always wanted. It is a refreshing colour and I am sure because of that and your excitement and expectations you will bring out the best of it and it will of you.

Thanks man! I really believe a red bass is better than a blue bass, if someone really wants a red bass. I'm also sure I play better on a Fender than on a fast Ibanez, cos I just don't feel good playing one. So I think this daphne blue one will be great:D
