Title: 2030 Hamburg
Post by: ilan on May 26, 2010, 01:23:28 AM
There's one on eBay with tons (close to 100) of high-res pics and two videos (http://cgi.ebay.com/Rickenbacker-2030-Hamburg-Bass-Guitar-ACTIVE-USA-OHSC-/300431203699?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Guitar&hash=item45f3185d73#ht_74048wt_1137).

It sounds very different from a 4000 Series.

We need more pics!

It's sort of active, but not in the sense most of us think. No battery.

I never could fall in love with these, the combination of neck width and profile just didn't fit me.

The 200 (guitar) and 2000 series Ricks just weren't traditional enough for most Rick fans. Doomed from the start.

Amazing, through a wealth of electronic trickery, Rickenbacker have created a bass that looks like a Telecaster and sounds like a Gibson bass.  ;D

I'm sure John Hall will appreciate your observation.  ;D

They don't really sound like Gibsons, though. They have their own thing going.
