It was an inside joke (and Mark got it!). "She asked why the singer's name was Alice" and the answer "Listen baby, you really wouldn't understand" is from Alice Cooper's Be my Lover, a song Blue Coupe even do a credible version of (with the referenced line at 3.02):

About half the year we do "My Generation" for the encore, and the other half we do "Eight Miles High", when we do EMH I use this bass, looks great under the lights(I'm told).
