Joe Zon builds some very nice sounding basses even if they aren't all that attractive (at least to me). Considering this one was his first effort at age 18, I can forgive him for the misshapen body and the obvious experimenting with the electronics.

That thing is so endearingly ugly, it touches my heart! probably sounds great though.

On a related note: I like Manring's lyrical style and I use harmonics when playing melodic stuff too, but his rushing to the headstock to the hipshot tuners (oviously four of them) is a silly little circus stunt in that first vid. All credit to his playing elsewhere though.
