The pop artist thing with John Hartford was a very small percentage of what he did...although with his TV show and everything, it got the most exposure.

John Hartford was another one...sort of like Jimi Hendrix only on fiddle and banjo...just played some harmonically out-there stuff and made it sound "traditional".

to this day, Poco and Pure Prairie League are my favorites...70's hippie country music...and don't forget Emmylou Harris...

Back in the 70's Earl Scruggs and his sons came around a lot, also.

Not a lot of threads start with a shipping mishap...then go to meat panties...then to country music.

Sounds like you are an extremely lucky man.

Be good to her.

Meant "E"

I know I mentioned this before, but I had that issue with short scale chromes 100 E string...have been using GHS's with a 95-96 E string, and not had any further problems.

Used the old Guild at a rehearsal last night...actually did pretty well.

No feedback, even without a feedback buster, but I couldn't remove my hands from the strings when not playing...or they would start vibrating, when things got loud.

Am really only interested in "plugged in" use...

Wondered if anyone has extensive experience using these for "stage"...

Wondered what a phospher bronze 5 string would sound like.

Anybody have any luck with these?

I've been fooling with an old Guild thin hollowbody, and it seems like there are some really cool sounds to be had...I've just never had a lot of luck with previous acoustics I've used on stage.  This one is a better quality instrument than all the others, though.  Feels real responsive in my hands.

Anybody use a Godin A4 or A5?

I raise the action on the E string side higher than I would on a long scale bass...makes it sound tighter and more assertive.

Be happy...if it plays well, that should be a keeper for life.

Keep praying...
