Epiphone Launches "Inspired By Gibson" Collections, US-Made Texan | NAMM 2020

No bass yet but "... it's the first of what the company is calling a Epiphone Made in USA line—setting the stage for more stateside guitars to be announced soon."

For personal reasons I'm not hopeful because I play left-handed and I don't know of any left-handed Epiphone basses.

But it's the Epiphone Elite/Elitist thing all over, just moved from Japan to the US. Wonder if it will be more successful this time. It much depends whether they (1) dig out models Gibson doesn't offer at a budget price and (2) can put a price tag on them that makes it worthwhile for them and the consumers.

There are buyers who won't buy unless it's MIA, and they will pay a reasonable price.

If they will still sell for less compared to Gibsons, where are they going to cut costs?
Contrary to what James Bond says, a good Gibson should be stirred, not shaken.

I doubt they'll be priced less. If anything, it will be a minor difference, just like in the old days before production moved to Japan.

On a possibly related note, Epi Vintage Pro T-Birds are starting to disappear and be clearanced.

Check all the usual online dealers; the stock is dwindling and sunburst models are all but gone already. I got one from Sam Ash new for $550.

Yes they are, and very nice bass - you need one!

Someone over at the Facebook Thunderbird Bass Players Group suggested that he saw the Vintage Pro Thunderbird announced as coming soon at the Gibson site.
