Ugliest bass thread
« on: July 29, 2008, 08:33:37 AM »
OK, I couldn't resist doing this.  How about a thread paying homage to those fugly misfits out there.  I'll get the ball rolling with this frmo "guess who!"  Check out the lovely combination of patterns on the sofa too!  Where's the fashion police?!?

I'm fixin' a hole where the rain gets in..........cuz I'm built for a kilt!

I saw that on Ebay this morning and had a nice laugh to start the day. There just isn't anything appealing about that IMHO, except the couch!

Zowie Jingo Batman, that sure is one strange thing to do with a piece of wood :o.
It looks kinda dangerous to me. If I could actually picture myself playing that thing, I think I could also picture smaking tha side of my head with the portion of the body that stretches across the top of the neck.

My Earthwood is big and awkward but it sure sounds great. 8)
That thing looks big , awkward and way fuggin' ugly. I wonder what it sounds like ???

Yeah, eBay is a wealth of humor!  Here's my favorite guitar from a few months back.  I can't believe what people will try to sell on eBay!  This is definitely ugly!

My own contribution - my gigged and tortured Aria SB

...or how 'bout a Music Man with scabies?

4-string goiter?

Gumby dammit?

This one is actually kinda cool:

Magnum with severed head?

"The mole"?

Or a bevy of mutilated Gibsons (and Epi)?

the old bunnybass site is the absolute motherlode for stuff like this. i would post a pic of my now 2 string wish fretless if i knew how but that would break my record of never posting any pics on line. anywhere.

I´m toally in love with the Gretsch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass. Only that name. I just love typing Gretsch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass.

Imagine a conversation after a gig.

- What bass is that?
- A P.

Or:

- Wow, what bass is that!?!?!?!
- That? Oh, that's just a Gretsch Billy Bo Jupiter Thunderbird Bass.

Know what's better???

Only the damn price of that thing...

the non reverse gets the Cabbage Patch award- At first it's ungainly & kind of ugly, but the design really grows on you- like a wart. It has become a favorite for me.

I'm still not sure if I love or hate this thing- it reminds one of two guitars stuck in the teleportation chamber. Or a Push-Me -Pull You
